Where is your Faith

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this ... For faith without works is dead.” (Ephesians 2:8)

Definition of Faith

1. strong belief in something, esp. without proof

2. a specific system of religious beliefs

3. complete confidence or trust, such as in a person or remedy

4. allegiance to a person or cause

Faith => Works => Grace

We are called to adhere and obey God not based on our own understanding but by faith so that we may live by works allowing Jesus Christ to be atonement and sacrifice covering our sins in grace.

For without faith there is no works and without works there is no grace.

It is not what we believe in what is so important, but rather what we do with what we don’t believe is what truly matters. When the mother tells her child not to touch the stove because you will get burned.  The child must act on faith that mom is telling the truth and by works to adhere to the warning.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

“For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies” (Matthew 5:19)

Jesus made it very clear when he said.

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” (Matthew 6:24)
